Recipe For The Most Delicious Prague Cake You Will Ever Taste

Prague cake is an utterly delicious dessert. The recipe has nothing to do with the capital of the Czech Republic, however. The inventor of this cake is, in fact, a well-known Moscow-based confectioner, who works at the Prague restaurant — Vladimir Guralnik. And it’s not hard to see why this recipe is so popular. “Prague” is a classic sponge cake which consists of three chocolate layers filled with soft chocolate cream.

For the sponge cake:

3 eggs
1 cup of sugar
0.5 can of condensed milk
1 cup of sour cream
1 tsp of baking soda
1.5 cup of flour
2 tbsp of cocoa powder
For the frosting:

50 g (1.7 oz) of butter
4 tsp of sugar
3 tsp of milk
1 tsp of cocoa powder
For the filling:

200 g (7 oz) of butter
0.5 can of condensed milk
1 tbs of cocoa powder

To make the filling: whisk together the butter and the condensed milk, add the cocoa powder and mix together thoroughly.
To make the frosting: mix together the butter, sugar, milk and cocoa powder. Cook on a low heat until the mixture thickens. Don’t forget to stir once in a while.
To make the cake dough: beat the eggs together with the sugar, add the condensed milk, add the baking soda and the sour cream, and whisk again. Pour in the flour and the cocoa powder, mix together.
Line a cake pan with parchment paper and grease it with butter. Bake the cake dough at 350°F (180 °С).
After the cake has been baked, leave it to cool, then slice it into three evenly-sized layers. Spread the filling on two of them, and spread the frosting on the top slice of the cake. Place on top of each other.
